Rosario to Rename Street in Honor of Musician Ricardo Iorio

Within this framework, the Municipal Council's Commission on Nomenclature and Monument Erection approved this Thursday a series of initiatives to rename streets, corners, plazas, and cultural spaces. Among them is a tribute to musician Ricardo Iorio, who passed away two years ago.

The meeting was chaired by Julia Irigoitia, from the Justicialist bloc, and included the participation of Alicia Pino, from the Socialist bloc, and Carlos Cardozo, from PRO, the author of the project related to Iorio.

The proposal is part of a broader plan by the Council to reinforce the city's cultural identity and recognize the contribution of local and national artists.

The choice of location is not accidental: it is a few meters from the Sala de las Artes (ex Dixon), an emblematic space on Rosario's music scene where the founder of Almafuerte and Hermética gave numerous concerts throughout his career.

If the Government Commission ratifies the initiative, a date will be set to hold the official ceremony and definitively establish the street's new name.

Buenos Aires, December 7 (NA) - The city of Rosario seeks to expand its cultural proposal through new public recognitions for prominent figures in national art.

All initiatives were approved to move to the Government Commission, responsible for final approval.

The project proposes changing the name of the stretch of Güemes Street between Suipacha and Francia Avenue, which would be renamed 'Ricardo Iorio'.
